This amazing Buddha statue was hand-carved (using just a hammer and chisel!) from one huge, solid piece of green lava stone on the island of Java, Indonesia.
 
Statue is carved from volcanic lava which has hardened into solid stone (basalt). Natural color and texture variations occur in the lava of this statue due to it interacting with other materials before hardening. Absolutely no filler or other material has been applied or added to this statue.
 
The statue in the listing is almost identical to the statue you will receive.
